Protective Coatings

All of our devices, with the exception of our wind instrument and our rain gauge, have no coating on their circuit board. These devices therefore should not be used outdoors or in a damp environment without some sort of protective coating or covering. Examples of suitable coatings include liquid electrical tape, spray lacquer and other non-conductive coatings. Note that the sensors (such as humidity, pressure, etc.) must be left uncoated in order to function correctly.

For pre-assembled units we offer the option of a moisture-resistant coating for a nominal additional charge. This coating will provide reasonable moisture resistance, but is not full waterproofing. Even with our coating, devices should not be placed directly in a rainy or wet environment. Please note that while our coating should help protect your device, we cannot guarantee that it will prevent damage in extremely damp environments.
