This device allows you to measure temperature and solar radiation in a single device. These units can be used to monitor environmental conditions, and are an essential part of your total weather station. You may wish to install these in multiple outdoor locations to monitor conditions for your garden and landscape areas, enabling you to select the plants most suited to the available sunlight. The solar detector detects light in the visible to infrared portion of the spectrum, with peak detection at 850nm and an acceptance angle of 150 degrees.

This is a fully assembled and tested unit. This device comes with dual RJ45 connectors, as well as screw terminals, for easy connection to your 1-wire network. This device can optionally use external power of 9-24 volts DC. Either our Power Injector or our 6 Channel Hub would provide the needed power.

Our circuit board design enables us to offer the combined Humidity/Temperature/Solar device at a price not much above that of this Temperature/Solar device. (Note that the product image shown is of the Humidity/Temperature/Solar device. The Temperature/Solar device looks almost identical, but will be missing the parts specific to Humidity detection.)

Note: We have changed the photodiode (solar sensor) on our solar devices due to manufacturer availability. The new sensor has a lower output than our previous sensor, so the peak output will not clip the way our original sensor did. In addition the new sensor fits better in the case, improving weather resistance and increasing the effective acceptance angle. (The photo of our solar sensor still shows the original photodiode; we will update the site shortly with newer photos.)
