The 6 Channel Master Hub combines the functionality of our Serial Adaptor with that of our 6 Channel Hub. Typically, 1-wire networks require a daisy-chain topology, with the master controller connecting to all devices in series. A hub allows you to connect multiple devices (or chains of devices) to a master controller using a star topology, giving you greater flexibility in how you lay out your 1-wire network. Our Master Hub incorporates a master (serial) adaptor with a hub, directly connecting to the serial port of your computer via the attached 3' (90 cm) cable, and allowing up to six different channels (sub-networks). Purchasing the combined unit offers a substantial savings over purchasing the serial adaptor and the hub separately.

This is a fully assembled and tested unit. All connectors on the hub are RJ45 connectors. The Master Hub also acts as a power injector for the 1-wire circuits.

A power supply is required by the Master Hub. You can use our Universal AC Adaptor (not included), or you can provide your own. The power supply must provide between 9-24 volt DC on a 2.1mm center-pin positive connector. (Note that if you use our barometer, you will need an adaptor that outputs at least 15 volts.)

NOTE: The Master Hub works best with a real serial port. It will work with some USB<->Serial adapters but this has not been fully tested and is not guaranteed to work.
